Seeing Red

So far in the book Seeing Red I think that is a good start because they are talking about what is happening and then what happen in the past one reasons are that red had a friend that he use to hang out with a kids named Thomas. Reds dad had died and red went to the grave at twelve o'clock and he meet up with Rosie and Darrell and they used a Ouija board. To contact his dad that has died and to ask him how to make his mom stay not to leave. So Red still goes the the shop where him and his dad use to go and work on some cars. But Red mom wants to leave because she doesn't have enough money to pay the bills and wants to move with her family and red doesn't want to because most of his cousins are not his age and his families house. So Red starts to do some things to stay where he already is, like hang out with Darrell which he knows will make his father disappointed if he was still their.

One of the conflicts I think is man vs society because I think that their are a little bit of racist people. Like Mr. Donlop he said to get Thomas who is African American to stay away from his property because he was African American. So reds dad told Mr. Donlop to get over that he was African American So Mr. Donlop said that he had a girl witch I think had nothing to do with Thomas. So that is one of the conflicts in the story so far.

I think that the genre is historic fiction because it has things to do with the past. Like the conflict is has to do with racism. And a lot of problems that Red is going through like his dad dyeing then him mom wanting to move away because she doesn't want little pars of her husband and him not actually their. So I think it is historical fiction because it is about a teenagers life which is fiction and a little to do with the past which is historical.

The plot of the story is about family friends and race issues and he live in Rocky Gap Virginia. Red is having some problems with his family because he doesn't want to sell the family business. But his mom wants to sell the house, car repair shop. And their are a lot of racial issue it has to be in the 1970 where this book is taken place in so their is a lot of racism. He has some friends problems while all of this is happening.

  1. Yes! Person vs Society can be hard to understand, but racism is definitely one example. Good job!
