The Maze Runner #3

So far the setting of the book the main Character Thomas was in a metal elevator. And when he was their he had no forget all of his memory but his nam witch was pretty bad. But then he relized that their were other people their. And their he met other people and they were just like him who have no memory and he was in the glade where he stayed and then he made more friends. He also started to realize that a pattern that a new person arrives every month. Then every week they would get more supplies.

The main points in the story are when he arrives to the glade because he realizes more when he gets their. And when he makes more friends but I also like how the book is written with a lot of details. I think that the book is a good book and is also a nice book. I also know that their is a movie that came out for the book which I think is cool.

The Maze Runner #2

I think that one of the conflict's in the book which I think was a main one is the memory wipe. To me I think that is a big one because their are a lot of other people he has no idea who they are and the only thing he has memory of is his name which is Thomas and to me I think that that is a conflict in the book.

Their are many characters but the main one is Thomas and he is in the box and is in the Glade and outside the Glade is the Maze with monsters and their is someone new in the glade every month and they live their. Thomas meets new people such as Alby, Newton, Chuck, Gally, and Minho. And he gets to know these people and some he becomes friends with other maybe not.

The Maze Runner

In the Beginning of the book it was kind of depressing because the one characters that were are introduced to is very scared and doesn't even know a thing about himself. Like it said he had no idea who his parents were, how he got in the dark elevator, his last name, and anything about his past. But to me I think that the introduction is a good and I think that it is very suspenseful because first of all where is he going in the elevator and why is it dark in their.

I think that what is happening in the beginning of the book in my opinion what is going to happen is to me I think that they had brainwashed him or done something with his memory to make him forget everything. But also I think that the book is going to be like the Hunger Games for some reason but I mean I don't know.

Where things come back

What I think of the book was that this book was really really interesting I personally really like it. In the book their is a lot going on in the book it has a lot if information that is descriptive. But their is a lot of drama in the book.

The theme of the book is like faith because like Cullen is a teenager and his cousin died and his family is like really sad. So he is with them but his brother just disappeared and he is in a bad place in his life where it is pretty depressing. But he has a friend who is very nice and is cool with him but basically is family has to have faith.

Where Things Come Back

The main character of the story is Cullen and their are more characters in the book like his aunt Julia she is depressed because of her dead son she mainly cries all the time. Also in the book Cullen's brother is gone he has disappeared. But wile I read the book I think that it is a good and this is very descriptive about the story.

But I think that their are many conflicts about in the book I think that their are so many because on Gabriel has disappeared, also his aunt she is so depressed because her son is dead. But I think that their are going to be more because what has already happened to Cullen and also I think that their going to be even more worse than what they already were.

American Indian Post

The American Indians were marginalized by the Americans because they were taking their land that they had and that was theirs, but not just that they were forced to do things that they didn't want to do, And with their old traditions they forced to forget them or they would get hit by the americans. So the Americans wanted to change how the Native Americans so Pratt took all the children from their homes so that they would be educated because he wanted them to change who they are because he did not like the way they were. In the Article the author wrote "But Pratt hadn’t told the chiefs everything. It was not Pratt’s plan to simply educate these children and teach them English. He also planned to “civilize” them—to strip them of their traditions and ways of life. Pratt believed that the children needed to completely abandon their “Indian-ness” in order to succeed in America. “Kill the Indian, save the man,” was Pratt’s saying." What they did to the American Indians was bad because they were forced to leave their old beliefs to do others stuff that they probably didn't want to do. The good thing is that some of them did not just leave their beliefs as they grew up in.

A: Compare/Contrast Luther Standing Bear’s and Shanice Britton’s experiences in their own time period.

The comparison of Luther Standing Bear and Shanice is that they both kept on what they believed in like keeping what they believe in alive they. Like in the article the author wrote that Luther Standing Bear wrote about the past and how they try to change how they are and helped the American Indians right. And Shanice says that she sill does her stuff that she does at her city that she doesn't want to change because she is proud of who she is.

Where Things Come Back

So as the book starts it starts intense cause the main character says "I was seventeen when I saw my first dead body. It wasn't my cousin Oslo's."But later he describes how his cousin looks and how when he saw him he had nothing to say about it and that there nothing he could say because he didn't know if he was mad at him or sad because of his death. But I do know that his family is a little sad because of his death but not really him.

The main conflict is Man VS Man to me because of his cousin Oslo that had died it says that he had bruises on his arms and you could see a lot of other things in his body. But also it is different because I don't know who did it to him so I have no idea. But for the other body I have no idea what kind of conflict it was because it says that she could of just died of a disease but she was old to. I think that their will be more of the conflicts later because their are already a lot of stuff just in the beginning of the book.

Tolerance

Tolerance- The ability or willingness to allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of something, in particular the existence of opinion or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.
  • What does tolerance mean to you? - I think that tolerance means that when other people have to stand with other people making front of them because they are and they use it just to be funny. But also I think that it means for people around that can stop them from using the word but just let them or don't care because it doesn't offend them.

The Saturday Boy #2

The book is mainly about a kid named Derek. This kids father was put in Afghanistan because he was a pilot and Derek and his father really don't see each other. So his father tries to keep close with Derek by writing letters to him. But either way Derek still gets himself in trouble with violence. He also gets bullied in school and he does some not so good things and he doesn't do the things that he use to do when he was younger.

I think that the theme of the book is that some the kids are just like not paid attention to because the book Derek's dad is in war and his mom works a lot. But also it is rough for them to because they might have other problems like in the school. Because some kids might have problems somewhere else but parents probably don't have time to do anything about it.

The Saturday Boy #1

My reflection is that I think that this boy is a normal boy but with his dad just serving in the army. I also think that he might just be struggling with a lot of things to do. Or he has no idea what to do. But i'm not to sure because i'm not into the book so much but when I read a little more I will know more.

I think that the conflict is that the Man vs. Self because the kid has to think a lot about things that is happening to him. But also I think that the kid might get through the whole thing later. But maybe he has other thing in his life that might be an obstacle for him but like I said I am not to sure because Im not into the book.

Skink No surrender #4

Well Later after they are starting their hunt to find Richards best friend and cousin because she left home to go with a friend she didn't even know. So skink is driving and trying to find clues. Basically its like a mystery. So later they talk to Malley and they hear a place that the Skink knows so in the call they realize that Malley is getting held under her own will. But on their way skink gets hurt really bad in his right leg for saving a skunk in the street and his bones are crushed.

I think that both skink and Richard are both determined and really good people. I think that because theses people are trying to save Richards cousin event thought she got herself in that problem. Also I think that skink doesn't have to do what he did and it took them a cost him a broken leg. And skink also saved a skunk.

Skink No Surrender #3

Well Later the Governor said that "I intend to find your cousin. Want to come?" Well later Richard starts to talk about his step dad and that how better his mom like him that he isn't the best but he is the guy who loves her. So Trent did a favor to Richard and he did it, after he Richard started to pack for his trip.

I think that Richard and Skink are really worried for his cousin Malley because they put matter into their own hands. I think that they are going to go like cool investigators like police in tv shows. But either way they are trying to really find out the case. And I think that they are going to do something amazing and risky.

Skink No Surrender

In the begging of the book he just sitting their waiting for his cousin Malley to show up. It was later at night he had called her but she did not pick up. Later in the text he was talking about turtle and how he has never seen a turtle lay their eggs but seen a nest of a turtle. So he herd a noise got up and grabbed a bat that he had since little league his mom made him carry it because of creepy people. Richard the main character did not know what the breathing was until he saw a straw in the middle of the sand and took it out, a man jumped out he was an older man and them they started arguing their. The old man was named Clint Tyree he was well known but people also thought that he was dead but he wasn't. While Richard was going home his cousin texted him and said that she was grounded when he arrived home he saw his step-dad watching t.v. Richard then started talking about his dad and how he died. He feel asleep and the next morning he got a text that his cousin Malley was gone and she was in a lot of trouble.

I think that Richard get into a lot of arguments because when he found the old man Clint. They started to argue until they calmed down and started to know each other more. Another one when his Cousin Malley was calling him and she had lied to him about her being grounded and "Left for early orientation"  But he figured out that she wasn't grounded or that she went to early orientation. So he told her that she was in a lot of trouble and she hung up on him and they had like a little bit of in argument because she had lied to him and didn't say anything to anyone where she was going.

Franklin D Roosevelt #4

Summary: Franklin was a complicated man a lot of people would say but in the text is says that his secretary of the interior said “You are a wonderful person, but you are one of the most difficult men to work with I have ever seen”. Also in another part of the book franklin had a very close friend and that Franklin had some many personalities that if you were talking to him and then he would change his personality to other one of his personality. But in the next chapter it talked about the war especially Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941 “A day which will live in infamy”, Then the president signed the declaration of war with Japan that same day the England declared war on Japan, then tree days later Germany and Italy declared war on the United Sates. The first big tree meeting which was the Stalin from Russia, Roosevelt from the United States, and Churchill from Britain meet in Teheran, Iran, November 29, 1943. Franklin during the war would go visit american troops he was the first president to go to visit during war. Franklin had a terrible headache and then slumped forward in his armchair then suffered massive cerebral hemorrhage. Paris was liberated then Hitler shot himself and Germany surrendered and then the atomic bombs were dropped on Japan and then they surrendered. The war was over.

Sign Post: The sign post that I remembered was “Words of the Wiser” Because Franklin said “ A day which will live in infamy"  I thought that those word were wise because America entered the war and won years later. I think that if we didn’t join that Britain would of been a lot of trouble. And with a good leader to lead us to the war but he did not get to see the last end of the war he died before the war ended.

Franklin D Roosevelt #3

Summary:  Roosevelt wanted to run for governor but they were rumors going around because he was becoming physically disabled. People in the text were saying that he did not need to be acrobat to become a governor he did most of the stuff behind the desk anyway. Roosevelt won the election and became the governor of New York. In that time It was around the great depression and a lot of people did not have a job. At the time President Hoover was trying to get the people to get out of depression. Roosevelt led the people out of depression when he became governor in New York. He addressed the Democratic convection in Chicago July 2 when he became a the president.

Character Trait: The Trait that I would give president Franklin D. Roosevelt is He was determined to do something cause in the book the author wrote that “New York was the first state to fight unemployment by direct government action.” Which President Roosevelt took action of his state as governor to change things around. He would get more people jobs and get money to make other peoples family.

But when his kids would saw him he would have a smile on his face. He later went to a hospital where he was diagnosed with polio.

He would walk with crouches he walked with them for a lot of time he did his speech with his crouches he would walk with them and he had his own house in the springs and he loved to just go in the springs and lay their.

Can Rest Heal A Concussion?

How much rest should be put on a kid when they have a concussion? A hospital in Wisconsin said that people don't need so much rest they only need about 2 days. Because lots of people are cocooned in a room in the dark without light and noise and other things. They took a test and most kids 11 through 22 went had a concussion and most when two days of rest and the other took five days of rest. When you take more time they they don't go to school and their activities. When they have less time they get more into their stuff and adjust back again to what they did before they had the concussion.

My Goals

-My Academics Goal

My academics I want to improve on my grades and bring them up in the b range. Also I would like to step up in class, participate, listen more to the teacher, and maybe ask for more help. Because I want to improve all my classes by a letter grade up or be in the b range. Also if I ask and participate and ask questions I will understand and turn in my assignments on time when they are due for class.
- My Personal Goal

My personal goal is to go to sleep more earlier and to wake up in time for school to go walking and on other days when I go to other activities in my day. If I go to sleep earlier I will be able to do things without having to feel sleepy and tired all the time and rest up for school. So when I do things I will be more active and participate more for school. Also another benefit is that if I sleep a little earlier I will wake up earlier and able to get more stuff in the day before I go to sleep again for the next day. I would like to do this year to benefit from it.
